Salvation at the hairdressers – God is Good!

I was up at the hairdressers last Wednesday (27th July 2011) and I was offered a free blow wave by the salon.  I was planning to just have a dry off, which means they do not style it thereby saving time, since I was tired and wanted to get home; however, when the offer was made I felt Holy Spirit say “take it, say yes” and so I did, wondering why, and feeling a bit embarrassed receiving it.

C was washing my hair.  I had said to her earlier that she seemed to be in a good place .  She looked at me and quizzed me how I knew.  I did not realise that she had known about G, who was the young guy that I had prophesied to two years ago, and who had told me recently what an impact the written prophetic word had made – he carried it in his wallet and read it regularly (see below for link to related story).  In any case, G had undergone quite a change.  He no longer dressed in a very “camp” way, but had seemed to tone it down, and I wondered if that was in direct relation to the word I had written which was full of God’s love and acceptance for him.  C mentioned it, and agreed with my observation, and she was intrigued by the whole event …

C was going to blow dry my hair and she started chatting about it all, commenting on how much the written prophecy had impacted G and how she marvelled at being able to do that.  She then went on to say that she was frightened of dying … I sat and listened thinking “what are you up to God?

As she spoke I suggested that everyone could hear from God, because He loved us all, Christian and non-Christian, and He spoke to us all more than we thought.  She agreed that he loved us all.  I found out later that C had come from a Catholic background, having been brough up in “the faith” with an Italian background, but without a personal relationship with God.

When I said she could hear from God too she seemed excited.  I went on to explain that we all had a “God space”  (see and that He wanted to connect with her so badly He would let her know where He was for her right then, in the salon as she was drying my hair (and I held my breath as I said it trusting God would show up!).  So, as she dried I suggested to ask Him where He was for her and she said “Jesus, where are you for me right now?” and then her eyes lit up as she looked at me in the mirror.  I said “where is He?”  She replied “He is right above me looking down”

I thought of the woman in Myers from last year, who had asked Jesus to come closer and closer, and then asked Him to come in her heart (see below for link) and I said to C “Do you want him to come closer?”  She replied “yes” so I said to her to ask Him to come closer.  As she did, she lit up more and I said “where is He?” and she said “right next to me on my right”, and she motioned to the place.

I said again, “do you want Him closer?”  She did and so she asked Him closer and He came closer, and was right next to her, as she invited Him closer I could feel the anointing increase.  I then said, “do you want to ask Him into you, so you have Him inside, do you want to ask Him into your heart?”  She looked at me in the mirror, all excited and said she did and so, as I watched her in the mirror, in the middle of the busy hairdresser, as she dried my hair she said “Jesus, come into my heart” and as she did her face changed.  She told me she felt a “shift”, and she felt completely different.  She said she was full of joy, and she looked it!

I then suggested she say sorry for being away from Him, to accept what he did on the cross for her etc, which she did and she looked so delighted she looked like “the cat that swallowed the canary” except it was that she had taken in the saviour of the world instead …

We kept talking.  I asked whether she felt any more fear of dying … she stood and thought for a moment and said “No!”  She was so excited!

I then told her about the gift of the Holy Spirit, that Jesus said that he would not leave us as orphans and that when He left He would send another, the Holy Spirit.  I quickly explained the gift of healing, the gift of prophecy which she was so intrigued with, and the gift of tongues, and there, in the hairdressers, I prayed for a baptism of the Holy Spirit, and for an impartation of all three gifts … and she quietly started to pray in tongues.

I gave her a cuddle and told her about the angels around her, dancing and celebrating at her new life,  told her about the angels in Heaven, and the great crowd of witnesses that were all celebrating and dancing, and as I did a little dance to the groovy music playing in the salon to make my point … her beaming the entire time.

I gave her my personal details, suggested she read the book of John as a start and encouraged her to plug into a local church, making a few recommendations and giving her details of her preferred choices next service … she very excitedly said she would go, and would take her brother with her … I thought ooo another saved soul on the way to Heaven …

I left that night with a blow wave, and she left with her salvation intact … she left her fear of death behind in her old life, having stepped into the new … alive to Christ, ready to get to know her God, ready to hear from Jesus, ready for a fullness of life with the Holy Spirit, and I know she will if she pursues it (as I think she will) because …

God is Good!.

Story that refers to Myers salvation:

Praise report – a blessed wedding for Sammi; a healing for Sammi; and another healing for Sammi … the double portion!

I was out and about Monday 25th July 2011 and had stopped, prayed, prophesied and bought coffee for a few people.  M (my four-year-old) wanted to go to a particular shop where Sammi worked.  I hesitated and checked with God and felt to go too, thinking that M’s desire could have been God inspired and so we headed up to the store.

As we walked in I was surprised to see Sammi – she had been given work at Highpoint and I had thought she had already left.  She looked up as she served another customer and said “hello”.  I motioned that I would wait to see how she was getting on.

I had prayed for Sammi a number of times, the last time being for her back and she had been relieved miraculously of the extreme pain , but then I had heard from the girl that she worked with a few days later that the pain had returned the following morning. See below for links.

I asked Sammi about her back, telling her that I had been told that her back had got bad again the day after I had prayed, and what she had to tell me was surprising and encouraging to say the least.

Sammi said that after the prayer she had been great.  Pain had returned, but on the other side of her back, lower down.  She said it had been so bad she had an MRI.  The great news was that the scan showed that she had been COMPLETELY HEALED where the original bulging disc had occurred (where I had prayed for her); but what the MRI also showed was that she now had a different problem, lower down, a bulging disc further towards the small of her back on the other side to where it had been originally.

She told me that she had been healed when I prayed for her, and that it had been so complete that she had been amazed and had told her Mother the entire story, saying to her Mother that she had healing in her hands (she did because I had prayed for an impartation of the gift of healing the last time I saw her).

She then went on to tell me that she had been in so much pain with the new problem that she had taken 2 weeks off work.

I listened and felt that it was a spirit of infirmity.  The last time I had prayed for her I had felt she needed to ask Holy Spirit to fill her up, but she had said she did not need to do so.  I had later told a friend about the whole experience and about my puzzlement (and my obvious sense of discouragement) about how she had seemed to “lose” her healing and he responded something like: “Clean out the house … and if you leave the house empty, 7 more will come and occupy” (referring to Matthew 12:43-45).

I asked her if she wanted me to pray and she enthusiastically said “yes”.

I laid my hand on her lower back and she commented on how hot my hand was … I could feel it too.  I prayed and mentioned to her the scripture above, asking her if she knew it … she did.  I said to her that I felt she needed to make a recommitment to Jesus and so she did, giving Him her heart and asking Him to fill her completely.  I then said to her that I know she felt she was full of the Hoy Spirit but I just felt she needed to ask Him in to fill her up too, she did.  I said that the Holy Spirit would displace any spirit of infirmity in her back.  She again prayed asking the Holy Spirit to fill her up.

I asked her how her back was and she said the pain had shifted down further … and I thought “caught”, recalling how Randy Clark had taught that if the pain shifted as you prayed it could be a spirit of infirmity, and if the pain started jumping around to feel encouraged and go for it.  I explained that to her, encouraging her that it had shown itself and was on the way out …

There were a few other issues I felt she needed to forgive around her wedding.  She prayed forgiveness and continued to ask the Holy Spirit to fill her, my hand hot on her back.

As I finished up I said try it out.  She moved around, touching her toes and twisting it and said it was great … nearly all gone.  I asked her if 100% was pain-free, where was she? and she said 95%.  I said “great, lets give it one more go?” and so I prayed some more and she looked and said all the pain was gone … She smiled saying how nice it was to be pain-free.

I went over to the counter with her and gave her my numbers, knowing that I would probably not see her before she left on Thursday, and as I did the new Manageress said “are you a healer?” I responded saying “I am a Christian, the Bible says that these signs shall follow those that believe, they shall lay hands on the sick and be healed, I just choose to believe that and do that, so in a way I am a healer, but really I am just a Christian that believes what the Bible says”.

I left absolutely delighted.  Sammi had been healed.  The pain had not come back the following day, but rather a different issue had erupted. I had been so disappointed when I had heard that she had regressed, but the girl who had told me this had not got the story straight … Sammi’s back had been healed (with a scan to prove it) but another issue had occurred …

The first time I had prayed for Sammi I had felt she needed to ask the Holy Spirit to fill her up.  I felt encouraged that I had probably heard correctly, and that God had, in His mercy and loving kindness given Sammi a second chance at being filled with His goodness and healing grace, to be free of whatever it was that was afflicting her …

Sammi had received the double portion – two healings, a second chance, and had tasted, felt and seen that …

Healing in an “ivory tower” of the law – M’s story of a Good God

This story is amazing.  This is a person who currently works at a very prestigious legal firm in town.  He is employed in a top position, is highly educated, but, like all of us, still has to get over the fear of stepping out and offering to pray for the sick.  Regardless of that fear, he has chosen to listen to the quiet promptings of God and, as you will read, he has allowed Dr Jesus to work miracles of healing through him as he goes – first in the office tea room, and later, as he works in his office.  Jesus goes with us, where ever we go, and so where ever we are there are miracles waiting to happen.

This is definitely worth a read.  I felt the anointing all over it.  He is a mighty man of God, one of many that God is positioning throughout society to impact Australia at all levels of society … in the parks, in the playgrounds, in the schools and in the ivory towers of the legal profession.  He is one of the many that are willing to step out because he knows that …

God is good!

My friend writes in an email received 20th July 2011:

I work at a large law firm in the city.  I was in a small galley tea room making a cup of tea when one of the tea ladies R, who cleans the kitchens and collect cups from offices etc. came in. We have known each other for many years. I asked how she was and she said she had been having terrible pain in her shoulder and neck for 2-3 weeks.

Without stopping to think, I asked if she would like me to pray for her. Her eyes almost popped out of her head. I explained I was a Christian and I believed God wants to and does heal people through prayer. She said “I believe, I believe”.  I got permission to place my hand lightly on her shoulder and neck. I could feel the muscles were like concrete.  I asked the Spirit to come and waited, then prayed peace for R’s body, mind and spirit and healing for the muscles and joints in her shoulder and neck. As I prayed I felt some movement in the muscles under my hand, the stiffness seemed to be going.  After a while I asked her what was happening for her.  She said “Its fine, it’s wonderful”, moving her shoulder around and “your hand was so hot”. (I didn’t feel any unusual heat in my hand but she did.)  She said she had a small amount of pain in one part of her neck so we prayed again. Then a man came into the tea room and said “What’s this – reiki in the tea room”. I said, “this isn’t reiki – this is God”.

I saw R later that day in the same tea room with another tea lady. She had experienced complete healing from the pain. She thanked me and called me her doctor and I told her that I was very happy to pray for her but it was Dr Jesus who healed her.  R was cool with this as she has an Eastern Orthodox background. Another tea lady N said she had terrible pain in her arm and a lump on her upper arm. I offered to pray but 2 other people wanted to come into the tea room (and there was no room so she said another time. R keeps telling her story to most of the non-legal staff and still calls me and Jesus her doctors when she sees me.

A few days later N came by my office on her rounds and she said she didn’t want to bother me, but I asked if she would like prayer. She let me feel the lump on her upper arm through her shirt and there was a raised lump the size of a 10c piece on her upper arm. We prayed in my office and the pain in her arm reduced a lot (but not completely) but the lump disappeared – neither of us could feel it.

When I asked her the next day how she was, she said the pain was reduced but a small lump had come back – it was much smaller than before and I could feel it was much smaller. So I prayed again and again the pain reduced. I told her I would pray for her anytime. I said if the lump persisted after we had prayed a few times she should consider seeing a doctor. She said she had more faith in God to heal than doctors.

Yes … I say it again …

God is good!

She knitted with love and God loved her back! Sunday 17th July 2011

We had walked past an information centre while away last week for school holidays, and seen a lovely little purple and green hand knitted beanie in the window.  I brought it to 7-year-old R’s attention.  She liked it and so we determined to pop in before we left to see if it was a “fit”.

On our last day, remembering the hat, R and I wandered over to the Information Centre, hand in hand, so that she could try it on.  She looked gorgeous and I checked with God about whether we should buy it, also checking in my spirit whether it had been made by someone who was “ok”.  I got the green light and sensed that it had been “made with love”.

It didn’t have a price but we quickly confirmed the price and approached the counter to pay.   As I arranged payment I said to the woman at the counter that, while it might sound strange, I felt that the beanie had been knitted “with love”.

She responded that there were more of the beanies in the op shop.  I asked whether the knitter was a Christian and as I did I felt I knew that she was the knitter … she looked at me and said “yes I think the knitter would call herself a Christian” … I said that we were too and that it was great if she was … I then looked back at her and sensing that she had knitted it I said “you knitted it didn’t you?” …

She smiled and teared up and replied “yes” that she had been trying not to let us know …

I looked at her and said “give me your hand I am going to pray a blessing on you”

She came over with tears in her eyes and I prayed …

I thanked God for her.  I thanked God that she had knitted the beanies with love; I thanked God for His love for her.  I then prayed that she would be blessed and thanked Him that all she put her hand to will cause her to prosper (Deut 30:9) and that she would know God’s love for her, I declared that this was the start of a season where she would know God’s love for her … I stopped and looked at her and said “He loves you very much” … I then continued and prayed favour … and then looked again at her and said “it has not been easy has it?” she responded “no it has not” and so I prayed more favour …

We left the Information Centre with her holding up her glasses to wipe the tears away … she was clearly touched by His love.

She had knitted with love, and I know God will visit her again and again with His love because …

God is Good!

His blessing and loving kindness follow us – jumping with joy; breakfast is on Him; and a double portion of bread … A Psalm 23:6 weekend

We have had a weekend of favour and blessing.

It started with a free coffee because they did not have soy milk for my coffee … so they did not charge for my husband’s coffee when I went to sign for it … I thanked the gentleman and left thinking how kind he was and figuring it was God’s favour …

Although we were away as a family my husband had to head down the coast for a day’s work – (which is another story of timing and favour).  The kids and I went for a walk and my youngest (4-year-old M) decided he would have his jump on the trampolines as promised.  I agreed and as I went to pay the cashier I prayed for favour … perhaps a little longer than the usual 10 minutes (we are often blessed with 15-20 minutes) … the young guy did not even look at me as he took my money …

We sat down, and I checked my watch to be sure we got our 10 minutes worth of jumping – given the young guys attitude.  10 minutes went by and the kids were still jumping … the cashier called some off … M (and by now his big sister 7-year-old R) had been giggling away and were jumping with joy … 15 minutes clicked past … others were called off … they kept jumping and I waited for our call off … 20 minutes … the giggles and jumping with joy continued as hot little faces grinned with delight … in the end they giggled and jumped with joy for 30 minutes …

The kids put on their shoes and as they walked out they said they obviously had just received God’s favour (R said she had prayed for God’s favour too) … perhaps it was a double dose of God’s favour … perhaps it was our favour being “pooled”.  They both looked up at the young guy, who still did not look at us, and both poppets happily chirruped “thank you” a few times, being sure he heard them.  He did acknowledge them, but not once gave any of us eye contact …

The following morning we decided to have breakfast out since my husband had one breakfast fully paid for through work.  My breakfast would cost $27 and the kids $15 … at first they looked at M and said he would be “free”, but, after we had thoroughly enjoyed our breaky together, we went to sign for the food bill and they said to us that both children were free and they would only charge us $21 for our fully cooked very yummy breakfasts (the lower charge for a “pre-booked”)… we wondered what was going on, but then thought … ok … its His blessing and favour …

Then, this Sunday morning we had packed and then popped out for a cooked breakfast for just A and I – the kids having eaten as we packed to leave.  Once we got there R announced that she wanted an egg.  M followed suit.  A and I looked at each other and thought we would order a serve of eggs and cut the toast in half (you pay extra for another piece of toast), and while it may seem a little thing, I noted that again we had been blessed … when the dishes came out, A’s and mine came out with one piece of toast (as per the menu), but R and M’s eggs and toast came out with two pieces of toast … so there was no need to half the toast between them.

Now many may say … “so what” … but you know what? …  I believe these are little touches of God’s goodness and kindness in our lives and I choose to celebrate each little thing He does for me, my family, my friends, my Church, even the miracles that take place in our amazing country

His goodness and His loving kindness follow us all the days of our lives because …

God is good!

Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

(Psalm 23:6 NASB copyright 1995)

God’s warmth at the snow …

We were up at Mt Baw Baw as a family for some snow play on Saturday 9th July 2011.  I was sitting at the end of the toboggan run when a mum and I exchanged glances as a child came flying down the hill at break neck speed.  As I smiled at her I noticed an arm sling on her right arm and I immediately thought of the call to arms that God has been heralding recently (see links below).

I laughed and suggested that she had been doing a little too much tobogganing, knowing full well that I had to pray for her.  She smiled back and walked over and said her daughter had bent it the wrong way and had torn the muscles and the nerves were pinched and causing pain and much numbness.  I grimaced and offered to pray for it to be healed quickly recounting the healing of someone with a broken foot.

She readily agreed.  Her name was K and she came over and sat by my side.  I said to her that the thick gloves would be no impediment to God recalling an image I had seen on God TV of Heidi Baker ministering in the cold with Georgian and Winnie Banov … I noted she did not take off her thick gloves to lay hands and somehow I had confidence that I could do the same …

I placed my hand on her right shoulder and started to pray.  As I did I told the story about A who had broken both her legs and who had been healed, feeling or sensing that it would increase her faith levels. (see link below for story).

As I prayed I mentioned she may feel something and she said she did .. a tingling and heat.  I said, laughing “well its not from me, I’m really cold”, but I can feel the warmth in my hand which is great because it is really cold.

I kept praying and released healing for the torn muscles, a reconnection to take place, for all ligaments to reconnect as they should, for the pain to leave and for the body to function properly.  I prayed for a peaceful sleep and asked her if her sleep had been disturbed … it had.  I told the spirit of arthritis to leave and released peace and the shalom of God (explaining as I did that the shalom of God meant peace … but so much more too including peace, health, etc … ).

She said it was still warm and tingling. I kept praying and her daughter ran over and told her the bus was leaving … she did not appear to want to leave.  I then asked her if she felt anything else.  She then said she felt coolness, but that it was not coolness from the snow or the cold, it was different.

We did not have time to discuss it any further.  Her young daughter was over again urging her to leave.  I saw a tag around her neck asked if she was on a camp, wondering if she was a Christian she was so receptive.  She replied she was … for kids with leukaemia and she motioned to her daughter …

I was surprised and knowing she had to go I quickly said that we could get some people from our church to pray for her daughter.  She said she that her daughter had been prayed for.  I mentioned the name of our church and said if you cannot remember it just think of white snow … white horse… Jesus rides on aWhitehorse– Google us and you will find us and you will find it and you can contact us for more prayer if you want it…

She said she would.  She did not seem to want to leave, but she did, and I watched her walk away through the snow, on a glorious winter’s afternoon at Mt Baw Baw.  As I watched I pondered how much she must have been through and I knew that I was there so that she would know that she was loved … that she also mattered to God … and I thought of a good God who had set us up … he knew I would stop for her because of her arm … who knows where the encounter will lead her … or her family because …

God is Good!

toothache, heartache … God cares about it all

Thursday 7th July 2011, 4 year old M and I popped into the local hairdresser to buy some shampoo.  I had kept forgetting but I felt that God had reminded me while out this morning and, strangely, while there I felt to ask, on the off chance, whether there was anyone available to cut M’s hair.  Usually they would be booked out, but someone was available and so, after a chat about the cost (usually more expensive for kids on a Thursday) we were given a 40% discount rate rather than a 20% discount rate, and M delightedly made his way to the chair …

M happily sat down, put in his order for a hot chocolate and chocolate chip biscuit and proceeded to chat to the girl that was cutting his hair.

As I sat I had a chat to a young Mum with foils in her hair.  She had a petite 16 month old and as we chatted about “Mummy stuff” she told me that her daughter was having trouble with teething.  I remembered the miracle of the teething 1 year old who had slept through from the night I had laid hands on his Mum and prayed for him (see links below for story and praise report).  I mentioned this to the Mum and offered to pray.  She said she was a Catholic and had not ever heard of such a thing.  I replied that I had decided a couple of years ago to believe the word in the Bible that said: “these signs shall follow those that believe … they shall lay hands on the sick and see them healed”.  From that time on I told her I had seen healings take place, and I told her a few more testimonies of God’s goodness.

She went to have her hair rinsed so I went in with her and laid hands on her daughter.  I released peace and told her daughters body to cut teeth without pain … and when I felt it was enough I stopped.

The Mum kept chatting to me and I felt to ask her if she wanted the gift of healing.  She said yes.  I sensed that she was intrigued and so I said to her that I felt she would check it out and that she would be shocked to see God heal people.  She gave me her hands and I prayed as I knelt before her – she was having her toner put in her hair by a male hairdresser who watched and listened as I prayed.

Once I finished praying for an impartation of the gift she started to tell me about her problems in her 5 year old marriage and how it had been really tough.  I again said give me your hands and I prayed.  She felt her heart tighten and I said to her that I believed she would go home and think about this and that she would ask Jesus “where are you for me right now?”  I told her she would feel Him and I said when that happens she should ask Him to come into her heart (I did not feel to lead her to Christ then and there).  I told her from that time on things would change for the better for her and that she would be amazed.  She agreed.

As I spoke I talked of God’s love, that there was no sickness in Heaven.  I told her about how I had given the young man washing her hair a word from God about 18 months earlier (he said – “that was you!? I keep that in my wallet.” And he said something along the lines of how special it had been to him).  I explained how God had wanted us to know how loved we were regardless of what we had done, who we were, how we lived, that He loved us regardless.  The guy doing her hair nodded all the way through as I spoke.

The girl listened and as we spoke her husband rang.  Coincidence? I think not.

As she spoke to him I prayed for them, for unity in the marriage.  When she finished I prayed for her again, and spoke unity and peace, joy and the “shalom” of God.  I explained briefly what that meant.  I finished praying and gave her my number telling her about how some people I had met as late as a year later had called me.  We spoke for a little longer and I said goodbye, encouraging her as I went to ask Jesus where He was and ask Him into her heart, and I confirmed that things would shift for the better.

I left … encouraged that the meeting was not by chance.  The discounted hair cut was not by chance.  Remembering to buy my hair shampoo that morning was not by chance …

I left encouraged that a word I had given, so very nervously, just after I had completed a prophetic course, had impacted a young man so strongly that he still carried those pieces of paper that identified how much God loved him …

God has a plan and a path for our lives … most of us just need to know how loved we are by Him, He will do the rest …

The impact of the words written in love to a young man … the impact of offering to pray … the impact of chatting to a young Mum who looked all shiny on the outside, but was hurting so much on the inside … the impact of speaking the Truth of God’s Kingdom, of healing and love and joy … the impact of taking the time to stop and chat, although I had many other things I could have got on with …

The impact of it all I will never really know, but that young man is an indication and an encouragement to me because, I know it I will just stop, step out and release His love to people as I go those around me will start to see that …

God is good!
