Stories of a good God

And unto us a child is born … Praise report of a Good God! healing of cerebral palsy …

In this world of instant this and instant that, how many times do we miss what God is doing and somehow give up on a miracle that may have already started to happen, if we just hung in there to see it to maturity?

Do we speak life … or death over our worlds for “life and death is in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).  Do you speak life, and celebrate even small beginnings, or do you speak death in discouragement and disappointment …

This is a brilliant testimony of God’s goodness.  A healing, blooming into fullness over time … it is still continuing even as I write …

This testimony (lengthy but so worth the read) was sent to friends of mine.  My friends had the same type of healing take place in the life of their own boy, who is now a grown man.  My friends’ child had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy too and was later declared infertile … he has since grown into a completely healthy functioning adult man who is a happy husband and father …

My friends did not give up and continued to pull down on the Promises of God and while doing so they also foster cared for over 70 children … I know … it amazes me too!

So, I ask … what miracle is around the corner for you?  We all love the instant fixes, the eyes that open, the ears that hear, the lame that walk instantly, but often a healing can be a process … it comes as a seed that must grow … and in that process there is a coming closer into relationship with a loving Father God, who wants good things for His children (Matthew 7:11)…

I believe we must celebrate all stories of breakthrough, all stories of triumph, for in each story of breakthrough is the promise of our own breakthrough … this is why I love these stories … God is no respecter of persons and … “they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” (Rev 12:11) … there is power in the blood and in the word of our testimony … and so read and prepare for the hour of breakthrough in your own life and be blessed as you declare His goodness in your own lives and into the lives of others …

My friend writes:

We became involved in this because of the miracles in our son P’s life. When A’s parents came forward for prayer, we were called and asked to tell them about our journey [author’s note: there is power in the testimony]. We prayed with them until Bill Johnson and Leif Hetland were free to come and pray. It was such a privilege to be ‘involved’ in this miracle…. HE is GOOD!

The testimony then goes on to say …

In January 2010 my two precious twin daughters were born almost 3 months before they were due, weighing in at only 2 pound 11 oz.

Within 24 hours my first born, A was diagnosed with significant brain damage, due to a major cerebral artery stroke. We were told she would probably die, but even if she did survive we were told she would have cerebral palsy and would never walk, talk properly or see properly and would not function normally in general. A’s younger sister was skinny and premature but ok.

So began our major faith walk with the Lord.

Early on the Lord gave me a dream in which I saw her running to me on the first day she came home from school. I refused to believe she wouldn’t walk. I told the doctors I was expecting a miracle. Jesus was there over her isolette in the ICU ward and He wasn’t going to disappoint us. She was going to be perfect just as He created her.

I cried. I screamed at God. How could you let this happen to my darling daughter? Why? My husband and I struggled with our faith. I realized that a faith that hadn’t been tested, couldn’t be trusted.  I clung to Him desperately.

Soon after we got home, after almost 3 months in hospital, we started to see signs of paralysis – symptoms of cerebral palsy. The knots in my stomach got worse and I’d lye in bed at night and couldn’t sleep because I was fearful for her future. The enemy would get in my ear, and harass me that she would never walk.

But, I remembered the hope I have in Jesus and the dream, the promise He gave me.

In May 2011, my daughter and I were at an all time low. She would sit on the floor and sob because she couldn’t move. Big fat tears would roll down her cheeks. She’d watch her sister running around and it would just break my heart. She couldn’t crawl. She could only sit.  Even then, she’d often fall back and smack her head on the floor. The whole right side of her body was paralyzed and in a state of spasticity. All she wanted was for me to hold her constantly and carry her everywhere. That was impossible and I felt like I couldn’t bear it much longer.

I cried out to the Lord … we can’t take much more Lord, we need a breakthrough soon! He said to me she would start walking in August. It seemed too long away but we just clung to the faith He’d given us.

In August I was driving home from a medical appointment and the Holy Spirit hit me hard and said He wanted me to take A down to Melbourne for Bill Johnson to pray for her. Before I got married, I had lived just outside of Melbourne and had attended Stairway Church but now I lived in rural Victoria, 3 hours away.

Bill Johnson and Leif Hetland were visiting Stairway Church that weekend of August 20th. Problem was, their conference was in a few days, and I had no tickets.

In faith, we made plans to go, and believed we were going to receive prayer. My husband and I took our three children (all under 2 years old!) to Melbourne, three hours away. Everything possible seemed to happen to prevent us getting there. We even lost our accommodation, so we had to drive there and back on the same day – 6 hours in total. We waited until the end of the conference, when the ministry team were praying over everyone, and then we walked right through the doors holding A. Thank God no one stopped us. The presence of God was in that place and we were getting in there no matter what! We waited in line and it came time for Bill and Leif to pray for her. Nothing happened…

We left for home believing for a miracle. The kids screamed pretty much the whole 3 hours home. My husband and I were emotionally spent.

The healing started slowly. She started pulling herself up to her knees; then she started pulling herself up to standing. A few months later she was cruising around furniture; and, then she was walking along the fence at the play ground! Then she was walking with us holding onto her two hands.

Before long, she was walking with us holding her one hand, the good one. Then it was walking holding just the affected hand.

And then … we hit a painfully slow period of nothing …nothing…nothing … it was like watching grass grow.

I downloaded Danny Silk’s message on “Master of the Breakthrough”. I knew something was building. We prayed, we declared. We prayed, we declared. Then last Sunday at church we sang a victory song about the deaf will hear, the blind will see, the LAME WILL WALK, the dead will rise, and I believe, that Jesus Christ is alive! We chanted that over and over and danced in the Spirit. We declared A would be dancing on her tiptoes, for Jesus!

The next day, on Monday, I woke up and read this scripture:

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”( Matthew 7:11).

A few hours later – A let go of the couch, and started walking completely alone, towards me!!!

It was an unforgettable, indescribable moment.

She’s wobbly, she is still falling and giggling, but Hallelujah … she is walking due to the amazing resurrection power of Jesus Christ! She is beating all the odds!

A is still learning to use her right arm and hand, particularly her fingers, but we just know that it won’t be long and a complete and total creative miracle will have happened!

She WILL be dancing on those cute little tippy toes. Who knows, maybe one day she’ll play the piano. She has also been talking, I’ve been teaching her to say ‘God’ and ‘Jesus’. Her eyes are perfect, she can see as well as her little sister.

All glory to God! He truly is THE Healer and Restorer. Thank you Lord from the bottom of our hearts! We are so grateful to our King.

A’s testimony to Jesus is going to be broadcast to everyone we come across. He is so worthy of all of the glory. And we can honestly say we are blessed to have been taken through this journey. We just can’t help but spread the word, of, “Look what the Lord has done!!!!” Hallelujah!

What seed of a miracle has been planted in your world?

What seed of a miracle could you release to others?

If the healing, whether your own or someone you love, or someone you have prayed for has not yet materialised in the natural … do not lose faith, but know the breakthrough is there … the breakthrough of another holds the promise of the breakthrough in your own life …

For unto us a child is born … (Isaiah 9:6)

And I know all this is so because …

God is Good!

Post Script: In getting permission to recount this testimony the following comment came back from the family on Christmas Day 2011:

PS: the medical professionals are all saying, it is just unheard of for a hemiplegic cerebral palsy child to be walking before 2 AND without her AFO (ankle foot orthotic). Truly is a miracle!

Unheard of in the natural world of medicine … but not unheard of in the world of Jesus Christ because …

God IS Good! … Merry Christmas!

Even when we miss it … God is Good!

Hearing God’s voice as we go … to be in His Presence as we walk out our every day life, to hear and step in time, in tune, with His heart beat is surely one of life’s greatest pleasures and delights …

Even when we are listening … even when we hear … we can still miss the mark … He loves us thoroughly, regardless …

Last Friday I placed an order for fruit and vegetables.  As I did felt an inclination to place an order for some friends that were due to return from being overseas the same weekend …

I emailed a query about delivery times, our delivery cycle was for Tuesday, their area was for a Thursday and so I used “logic” to figure I must have heard wrong, since by Thursday these friends would well and truly be home from holidays and would be organised enough to have their supplies in the fridge … I also figured I could place the order later since their cut off time was a few days later than when I was ordering, so I figured I had time …

Yesterday, the following Thursday morning I sent a text message to my friend and received a text back saying she was ill, and had no food in the house and had done no shopping …

I instantly felt a pang of regret …

I texted back I would pray and with a full day scheduled I rang the organic company knowing full well that the cut off date was past and that they would be packing their boxes, for their last day of delivery before the Christmas break of a month … it would be a miracle to be able to arrange a box of produce!

I rang, explained my dilemma.  Thankfully they related, since they are Christians, and promised to do their best, but that they had really only bought enough produce for the current order cycle since they were shutting after this run for Christmas … I prayed for a multiplication of food and waited …

About an hour later, I received a call and was told they had enough for a small box of produce with a few extras …

So, I arranged for the delivery.

The family that received the box were delighted, but I still apologised to them for missing the mark … I knew I had needed to order a bigger box, not delay the obedience, but to hear and obey, and so they had not received their full blessing …

The moral of the story … even when we listen, and hear … we can still miss God’s voice, His will.  My role is to be obedient, not “logical”, because we really do not know what is going on in other peoples’ lives … our choice to obey immediately, or not, can impact others dramatically …

Now yes, I acknowledge that this was not a life and death situation like the bus full of children story, but still …we are a body and we need to support one another … we need to listen and obey … for …

… if you love Me, you will obey [Me] … (John 14:15)

I could have erred on generosity, rather than logic (I’d rather “miss it” and err on the side of generosity and kindness) … if we believe we hear from Him, and we all do, and if we feel we are being asked to do something that resonates with His character of loving kindness, generosity, abundance, encouraging, uplifting …then we cannot go far wrong …

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12)

And, as a body we need one another … with Christ as the head

From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Ephesians 4:16)

So we need to obey, we need to encourage one another, bless one another, up hold one another … in the natural and in the spiritual with prayer … and if we do the unity and love that we show for one another will radiate His glory for …

Stepping into the Promises of God … praying for M, a young autistic boy, because God is Good!

You may recall a recent post in which I told a number of stories about stepping into our prophetic destiny … about intentionally co-labouring with God to see the prophetic word released and grow in our lives … well  I had such an opportunity yesterday …

I was out with my children and I decided to stop and buy some meat from a local butcher.  I got a great car park and walked in, past a young teenager boy who was sitting on the shop step with a yellow Labrador pup on a lead.  I smiled and pointed the dog out to my children and as I did a woman opened the door to the store and kindly apologised and told the boy to move across …

I smiled at her saying we were admiring the pup and the three of us walked into the butcher.  As I stood next to the woman she turned to me and said that the young man was her son … he was autistic, and he had got the pup as a companion dog …

I smiled and asked a few questions and as she paid for her purchase I offered to pray for her son, explaining that I was a Christian (she said she was too) and that I had received a prophetic word that I would see the autism healed … she immediately said she had prayed much, but that she would love for me to pray, and so together we walked out onto the street, I knelt down before her son, placed my hand on his shoulder and prayed and as I did I “reminded” God of His word to me that I would see autism healed …

There was no thunder bolt … there was no “hallelujah” chorus … that I could hear in any case … but I rested in the knowledge that God wanted him whole and also there was a prophetic word from a reliable prophet who had declared over me that I would see autism healed … well … here was an autistic boy, and boy oh boy, was I going to pray for him! … if his mum let me of course.

Now, he is not the first autistic child that I have prayed for … I have prayed for two or three others, all prior to the word of promise from God, but, now I had a promise from God that I would see autism healed.  As I had stood in the store, prior to offering to pray, I noted the coincidence of timing (which the mum also commented on) and my mind had immediately gone to the daughter of a beautiful friend that has a gorgeous, autistic little girl.  She has been the recipient of miracle after miracle, but who was still autistic … I thought of her healing, I thought of this boys healing … and thought … I’m going to step into this regardless, until I see it happen!

I turned after praying for him, and prayed for the mum.  She thanked me, asked if I shopped often in the area (which I did sometimes) and as we chatted I shared a story of another autistic boy I had prayed for at a nearby shopping centre, a year ago that had started to get physically aggressive, but had become very peaceful after prayer … As we parted we wished one another a Merry Christmas!

This is a little story … a short story … I do not know the end … but I tell it to provoke a reaction …

What words have been declared over your life that are lying dormant, waiting for you to pull them out, pull them down from Heaven and step into?

There are words of promise already spoken about us in the Bible … promises for those of us who believe …Jesus promises us that

“these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16:17-18)

And then there are the personal words, whether they are rhema (living) words from the Bible for you, or prophetic words spoken over you by another, or whether they be words spoken directly to you by God in your quiet time with Him …

Whatever words they may be they will be great, grand and marvellous … because we are His children and he loves to call out our purpose and our identity … the “who we will  be”, for how He sees us now, is who we will become … if we so choose to step into it with Him …

So, what words do you have?

I encourage you, as we enter a time of reflection around Christmas and New Year, to dust off your words, choose to believe them and step up into God, and out into the community, into your future …

It will be glorious … it will be grand … it may not happen over night, but it will happen if we do not give up… and it will be so very worth it for …

God is Good!

And she stood weeping … because God is good!

After church today we popped into a service station to fill up the car and to purchase a couple of items for a lunch we were heading to. I collected my items and as I went out to the car to get a discount voucher I felt certain that God wanted me to offer to pray for the girl behind the counter.

I finalised my purchase and offered to pray for her … explaining I was a Christian and I wanted to know if she needed prayer for anything.  She looked at me puzzled and so I repeated my question, explaining that I had felt God prompting me to offer to pray for her as I had walked out and so I wanted to know if there was anything I could pray for her about …

She looked at me and lent forward earnestly and immediately said “yes, a job, I am a qualified pilot and I want a job” … I looked at her and said I would pray for her and I stepped aside so she could serve the next person …

To follow was one of the longest waits.  The customers poured in.  One would leave and another would come in … (it often happens) … so I waited … but as I did I checked my watch noted my husband and children waiting in the car and prayed for an opportunity because we were due to get to a lunch … regardless, I knew to wait, because this was a God assignment and therefore important …

She looked at me and suggested that I could go … I looked and said “no, this is important” …

Eventually we had a break in the flow of customers and I introduced myself.  I noted her name and said hello, took her hand and invited the Holy Spirit to come … an anointing immediately flowed.

I recounted the testimony of a friends husband who I had prayed for, who had waited for 9 months for a contract to come through from a major bank, and for whom the day after I had prayed an open destiny, a contract came the following day by email … he quit his job and started the new job in less than a week (praise report click link here) …

I then prayed “God what you did for B, do for A” and I declared her destiny open in the name of Jesus, I released blessing and favour, and doors to be open to her destiny … as I did I could feel the anointing flow.  Someone came and waited to be served as I prayed and I felt the Holy Spirit say “that’s enough”.  I left quickly and as I ran out she again asked my name, I told her as I ran out and left calling out “bless you”.

As I left the store, I felt that I needed to give her the name of our church and so I ran to the car, scribbled the churches name and my name and number on a scrap piece of paper and ran back in to give it to her … I saw that she was standing behind the counter holding back the tears as she served the next customer …

I ran up to the counter and gave her the details, explaining them briefly to her and as I did the flood gates opened and she started to weep.  I looked at her and said “you felt Him didn’t you?” she nodded … I asked if she needed a cuddle, she said she was fine, and so I encouraged her to feel ok about calling me, and explained that this was my church …

I left marvelling at how powerfully God had touched her.  As I climbed into the car I mentioned it to my husband, explaining how I usually do not get to go back to see the impact of God on the people I stop for “as I go” … but this time I had, and how powerfully He had touched this beautiful girl … she was obviously moved, and had felt the touch of God first hand … I know her destiny is open now … I have seen it happen over and over … I know that good things are on their way for this lovely girl because …

Stories of secret santas … God is Good!

What is it about this season that causes people to become generous-hearted?

It is more than just the season … I know this for sure, given the number of stressed shop staff that I have spoken to that have mentioned the unpleasant treatment they have been receiving from stressed and busy people racing through the shops to get “the shopping done” …

There is that, the unpleasantness, but then there is something else, an atmosphere, or an attitude which can be caught, which can be spread, which can be given away and which can change atmospheres … we can release it as we go, and in doing so it has the potential to change districts, cities and even nations … Christians and non-Christians alike can “catch” the breeze on this one, and regardless of belief systems an attitude of generosity can be caught, can infect people …

A blogger visited my site, and in turn I visited his.  His blog appears to generally be more political in nature … but there, in the midst of political comment, is a piece about the generosity of people toward strangers … a story that has impacted others in such a tremendous way that those others have then gone on and done the same … a story that in turn has inspired more acts of generosity, which in turn have caused more acts of generosity and so on … the potential is endless … His loving kindness is infectious …

I encourage you to read this simple story and marvel at how a basic anonymous act of kindness can impact others … and how in turn such an act can then resonate through a community … it is a story of how “a secret santa pays for other people’s lay-buys for Christmas” … please take the time to read … it warms the heart!

Reading this story reminded me  of my own such experience, posted over a year ago which I recount now:

We decided to go out for dinner where the river meets the bay.  It was a beautiful night.  We were all tired, but it was fun to go and as a family we headed out to enjoy a balmy Friday evening together.

The children enjoyed watching the boats, gobbled their dinner and we had a lovely evening.  I sat and finished my drink and A went to pay for our meal.

When A came back with a receipt he said “look at how much the bill was?”  Expecting a big bill, I looked and was surprised at how small it was … I thought “there were no problems with the meal, we had made no complaints, what was going on?”

I looked at A and he said “Santa paid for our meal”.

Incredulous I looked at him and said “what?”

A complete stranger had picked up our entire food bill and wished to remain anonymous – the waitress said that she was instructed to say “Santa had paid”.

We were amazed, a bit shocked … in fact rather incredulous … and felt so very blessed …

My daughter and I prayed for whoever they were and released a 100 fold, a 1000 fold return, blessing them where we sat …

I wrote a short note of thanks … “Dear Santa …” and handed it to the waitress who was beaming as she watched the Goodness of God unfold in our lives … as she watched God’s love unfold in our lives – what a witness … to us and her!

God’s goodness, His loving kindness is remarkable … a complete stranger released it upon us … we did taste and see that God is good … and as I write this testimony I am still amazed at how loved I feel by a complete stranger and by a gloriously good God!

God is Good!

Bill Johnson tell’s a story of how one person from his church in Redding California paid for a person’s coffee at Star Bucks and in doing so started a chain reaction where each person that came after them “paid it forward” … they paid for the next one, who paid for the next one … and so on and so on … the “chain” of generosity remained unbroken for some hours … something had shifted in the atmosphere … the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand and had been released …

Could you be a “Secret Santa” and bless someone?  You could even be an “out there” Christian and pay for a stranger’s groceries, or bread (click here for related story) … they in turn may pay it forward …

Go ahead, be a secret Santa, but please, also, make a decision not to be a secret Christian.  Let God out of the box, take Jesus out of the Church and onto the streets, out of your Sunday and into your every day … let God out of you … let the river of life flow from within … if you do He will impact nations through you … it only takes one … with God … to alter the course of history … so imagine what an army of us could do if we just let Him out, if we would stop and pray for the one and believe what He says we are capable of in the Bible … it would be miraculous, it would be magnificent … all “the Earth would be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of God” (Hab 2:14) … his goodness, His loving kindness, because …

God is Good!

The power of one – receiving so that you may give …

We are all significant in our sphere of influence.

One tiny “random” act of kindness has the power to change worlds.

Some time last year we decided to head up to our local pizza place for dinner.  Outside was a gentle broken man, who was clearly drunk and homeless … he asked us for some money …

Instead of giving money we took him into the pizza place and bought him a take-away meal.  While there we were told by the owners that people would often buy him food there.

As we waited for his food to cook both my husband and I prayed for him, releasing healing and freedom upon him, we prayed that He would  know the love of God, and feel accepted.  As we prayed we knew we needed to take him shopping, and so, exchanging glances, I took the children to order our meals and my husband took the man to the supermarket next door to buy some supplies, to meet his needs, at least for the next few days …

The shopping excursion seemed to take an exceptionally long time, and I got quite restless, questioning why it was taking so long, but eventually my husband returned from the shopping excursion and recounted the following to us as we ate our meal …

The man was homeless, but often stayed in a shelter in St Kilda, a local suburb of Melbourne.  My husband took him round the shelves of the supermarket and asked him what he needed, and then my husband asked him what he wanted

They bought toiletries, razors, soap etc, and some basic items of food … bread, butter, fruit, vegetables.  My husband then suggested they buy meat … and the man excitedly said how great that would be and so they went and got some good cuts of meat and as they did the man said he would go back to the shelter where there was a BBQ close by and he would BBQ up a fine feast …

My husband then asked what else he would like and the man looked at him and quietly said with tears “I love peanut butter” … and so they bought peanut butter … not because this man needed peanut butter, but because this man liked peanut butter …

As they shopped the man kept saying how unworthy he felt of accepting the items and my husband kept responding that that was not how God saw him … the man wept each time my husband confirmed that he was accepted and worthy …

At the end of their shopping, before they said their goodbyes, my husband prayed with the man again … praying that he would find permanent accommodation, that God would heal him with respect to his feeling unworthy, unloved … and he prayed worth, acceptance and love … again there was much weeping from the man …

We have not seen this man again … he headed off into the night with his dinner and his supplies …

We trust he felt the love of God, not just hearing the prayers prayed, not just receiving the money spent, and not just eating the take-away meal … but through the time spent together – my husband and him, shopping together to buy items needed and items wanted … that he felt loved and accepted and worthy …

I trust the man felt loved … for a while at least … who knows the experience has done for him … but I trust the prayers have been answered …

Apparently the man left my husband joyfully planning his meat BBQ … he went into the night headed for a shelter with his supplies and with his beloved peanut butter in hand …

I recount this story, not to blow our trumpet, but to ask, who is in your sphere of influence? Will you stop for the one?

This story is told in response to a beautiful movie clip that I found on a blog site that belongs to someone who visited my blog site recently …

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you …” (Acts 3:6)

The clip (click here to view) runs for 10 minutes … but it is a 10 minutes that is worth your time, and may change your life.  I believe it captures the heart of God as demonstrated through a homeless man who sits and receives … and then gives what little he has away … impacting others in his sphere of influence … regardless of what little he has …

It reminds me that we must sit and wait to receive from the Father … to then take what we have received (whether we think it little or big), and give it away as we go … to you the pennies or the prayers may be meaningless, but to another they change destinies …

God may be calling you to give away money, or to take a homeless person shopping … he may be asking you to stop and smile at the sales clerk … or to pray for the woman in the store where you are that clearly has a broken arm … He may just be wanting you to stop, and spend some time with Him … just because …

There is power in one … with God … no matter our sphere of influence we can change the world … one “random” act of kindness at a time … so why not “pay it forward” and give what God has given you away … and in doing so you will release a power that changes lives for the better because …

God is Good!

We have the power to bless as we go … blessing businesses and pursuing the prophetic word in a place of rest …

Words have power.  What we speak has power.  With our words, backed up by God’s Spirit we impact destinies, we impact nations … when we align ourselves with the purposes and intentions of God and release those purposes onto earth through our words – words of love, edification and encouragement.  If we will just speak out what we hear Him saying for people, businesses, countries, organisations we will move mountains …

Prophetic words spoken over our lives are perplexing and challenging at the best of times.  As a new Christian I did not understand nor realise that there was a co-labouring with God in not only believing a prophetic word, but in taking action to see it come true in my life … we do it together … not through striving, but from a place of rest in Him …

I have posted stories where I have felt led to pray for a business owner or a business. See this link here  for as an example that comes to mind.

I have prayed for business owners as and when prompted, declaring favour over them and their business, but not often have I had feed back from those businesses … it is often “as I go” and so I often do not go back …

Well, recently I had the privilege of being prophesied over.  The prophecy included that I had an anointing to bless businesses … I immediately thought of a friends business that I was going to bless locally, we had been talking about it for some time, but with this word of promise from God I thought “right, I need to do this for my friend and for her business … God has made a declaration over my life through this word … it is time to walk in this with intentionality …”

And so, a few days before we were due to go away for holidays I went around to my friend place of business and prayed and blessed it …

We then went away on holidays.

While away we visited a restaurant where I had prayed for the owner and had blessed her business 2 years prior.  The prayer had been in response to a prompting from God and I had stepped out feeling nervous, but determined.  The owner was Jewish and I released and declared the blessing of Abraham over her and her business.  I suggested she research her inheritance – she was greatly touched at the time.  On this follow-up visit she said she did remember me, and that the business was doing extremely well.

I was later told by a man who drove us to the airport (whose business I also blessed) that the restaurant had been doing well … it was always busy even though other places had closed and even though it was located in a tourist holiday town that had been struggling significantly with the recent economic conditions …

With this testimony and with the prophetic word declared over my life, I have been asking other people how business has been where I have prayed in the past.

About one year ago I prayed for another business, a clothing store, at a local seaside town.  We were back in the store about a month ago and I asked the owner how business was … she too said things had been good since I had prayed … she felt it had made a difference – isn’t God Good!

Well, there is an intentionality now, and although I feel awkward at times, when I get a hint of a desire to bless a business I step out, knowing that I have Heaven behind me … it is like I did it before the prophetic word on His prompting, and now God has encouraged me further, with the prophetic word, that He was backing me up …

Is it that if we will listen to Him and what He is wanting to do that we can in turn release blessing and favour over people, businesses, countries … and then perhaps as we step out faithfully He will acknowledge that and affirm us in the most unexpected way, confirming that he is backing up our words with all of Heavens resources …?

Prophetic words are not only for the future … they are indeed for the now

It is time for the Body of Christ to pick up the words of God … believe them and release them.

God releases His intention through the prophetic.  Yes, there is timing and grace and preparation, but there are also words, I hazard a guess, that have been released over us all that we can co-labour with, that we can pick up and walk into …

The Bible is full of prophetic declarations of who we all are called to be …

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. (Jesus speaking in John 14:12 NIV 1984)

“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Jesus speaking in Mark 16:17-18 NIV 1984)

What are we going to believe?  The prophetic word declared by Jesus about all believers … or something else?

Are you co-labouring with an intentionality to grow the promises in your life; or, are you waiting for the great anointing to just happen?

I encourage you … step into it “for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Matt 3:2 NASB 1985) … and what is more … IT”S FUN!

Water the seed of the prophetic words spoken over your life, spoken to us all in the Bible and let them grow … grow them with purpose and intentionality and you too will discover that …

God is Good.
