What do you want … calling forth a blessing for business because God is Good!

About two weeks ago I was chatting to a friend who owns an online organic fruit, vegetable, and essentials home delivery business.

We were discussing “customers” … or in my world “clients” …

What were “good clients” in my industry and what were “good customers” in her industry … and how wonderful it would be to have customers that were essentially regular, paying, non- complicated individuals who appreciated and valued what they were receiving … how business would be so much easier with those sorts of clients … They appreciated value and service and were not high maintenance, complainers or ones that expected a whole of something for … nothing ….

She discussed a prophetic word I had given her and how I had prayed a blessing for her business … She mentioned that business was going well, and how good changes were on the winds. I asked her whether she had ever identified and written down the “ideal customer” and whether she had called them in.

She responded she had prayed for her business to be blessed, but she had never considered identifying the ideal customer profile and asking for lots of those types of customers in her prayers … she had always kept it general …

I told her the story of a Christian great I had read about and how he had learnt to be particular with his prayers … I then shared how I had also been particular after reading this book, with my prayers regarding a matter in my own life, that had dragged on for 18 months … and how not long after my husband and I had seen break through, and I encouraged her to do so the same, get particular with her “ideal customer” and ask for them to come … and with that we both said goodbye with school pick ups to take care of in our own respective worlds …

Not long after I received this message:

“So you said pray for good easy customers to come in, which I did …. Got a call this morning from a company with $x to spend from a grant and have ordered veggie boxes for the next 9 weeks and have paid upfront! Hilarious and so good. I like that prayer idea!!! Thanks for the inspiration xxx”

We have not because we ask not …

Get particular with your prayers … What do you really want?

What does a blessed business look like?

What does abundance look like?

What does health look like?

And when it comes … Regardless of the size of the break through,  celebrate!  Celebrate the first fruits of the breakthrough and see the fullness of the promise in the seed …

Are you ill? Do you feel a little better? Praise God and look for the fullness of the healing.

Are you in need of finance … does someone buy you a coffee, or do you find $2 on the pavement … get excited and see it as first fruits …

Does someone else have the break through that you are looking for … celebrate with them, ask them to pray with/for you and watch what will happen …

A good work He will bring to completion!

Never despise small beginnings … But celebrate and call the rest forth … For your self and for others … And as you do you will see the goodness of God grow in your life, and in the life of others and it will be the start of the knowledge of the glory of God filling the Earth as the waters cover the sea (Hab 2:14) because …

God knows…Love in a tea towel

About 2 months ago I posted a story called “chocolate cake kisses from God“. It was a story of how a mum, a friend, from my son’s kindy community had seen beyond her own circumstances full of loss and grief and had seen me struggling and had baked me a chocolate cake … to show me I was loved. It moved me greatly.

The cake was joyfully devoured and the plate on which it came sat at home waiting for me to remember to return it.  It waited for longer than I care to admit.

Then, one day, I was finishing off work, and madly getting ready to leave for our American trip, when I remembered the plate.  As I did I had the ever so strong desire to wrap it up in a pair of tea towels.  There was a new pair sitting in my gift cupboard, a set I had bought long ago, on a God prompting, and they had sat since their purchase, waiting for their new owner.

Sensible to protect the plate by wrapping it in something soft, I thought, trying to justify the seemingly strange desire.  I had no inkling that God was involved, and I told myself that the plate needs to be protected up to kindy, at kindy and home again.  I did not want to break or chip it, but then I thought ” that’s a bit over the top”, yet the desire remained.

In fact the desire was so strong I went upstairs and got the tea towels and wrapped them around the plates popped them into a plastic bag all ready to hand over at kindy pick up, and, oddly enough my husband called me just prior to kindy pick up and he reminded me that I needed to return the plate … I laughed saying I had remembered this time … but still I did not click that God was up to something good.

I headed up to kindy, ready to hand over the bundle with a brief explanation, and a laugh at myself …

I saw my friend, grinned and gave her the bag with plate and tea towels, explaining that I had an ever so strong desire to give her plate back wrapped in a gift of two new tea towels!

As I did she exclaimed something along the lines of  … “your kidding” …

Now, some of you may remember that this particular friend and story.  Not long before the gift of cake she had travelled through the significant shock of having both her parents killed tragically in a car crash.  From the time of the loss,  God started loving on her … I was told to pray, send texts, I had her daughter a few times … and each time it seemed to coincide with a very strong need on her part … a need that was met through my obedience to His prompting … so I knew that God was on a love rampage for this girl … He was showering her with His love, letting her know He was with her, watching her, caring for her … It was so amazing some of the things He did He even freaked me out!

Well this one took the cake … so to speak!

I had not recognised the desire as a God prompting … I thought it was just my wacky idea … well God is into wacky ideas … in fact  am becoming more and more convinced that He is the author of the ones which express and release His attributes of love, kindness, joy, peace etc …

My friend told me that just the night before she had looked at her old tea towels and had declared to her husband that she was throwing out the old and buying all new ones … she had said she was over the ratty old ones she had … she wanted new ones!

And here He had provided two new ones, without my knowledge of her desire, the following day … and through this little act He had said yet again to this beautiful girl: “I am here, I know your needs, I know your wants, and I care about the little things, I love you …”

I had no idea I was being used by God.  I had walked in complete ignorance as to what He was up to …

God is so kind, so very good …

He will move through us with our knowledge … or without … either way He will get His Word out … He will get His Love out to the world …

Jesus responded to the Pharisees when they told Him to silence the people’s praise of Him that if the people kept quiet, the stones will cry out (Luke 19:40)

The knowledge of His Glory, which I believe is imbued with His goodness, His love, His kindness, will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea (see Habakkuk 2:14) … And as it does we all will see that …

God is Good!

Coming out of the closet to declare that…God is Good!

I have a friend who has recently become a Christian.  In her own words she has been on a “journey” … a journey of discovery…

My friend was fearful of becoming a Christian and had believed that “the path” was wide and that there were many ways to God … but on her journey of discovery she has come to the realisation that there is one path, one way, and that way is through Jesus … as she says … none other can measure up …

My friend decided to have a summer party.  She had her party 25th February this year, on one of the hottest days of the summer … it was at least 39 degrees Celsius (about 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and the night was intensely warm.

The music flowed, people gathered into groups and danced or chatted in the balmy February evening … it was a delightful occasion and I thoroughly enjoyed being there.

As the night progressed it was time for something to be said. Now my friend had said that she had invited around 200 friends and that most were not Christians, in fact she had said that most were quite alterative and possibly anti-Christian.

So, with the time for speeches having arrived my friend took up her guitar and started to sing a song …

She sang, breathless, looking radiant and beautiful.  She sang a song to her Saviour, she sang to her Lord.  She gave her thanks and declared her gratitude and stating that God had sent His Son Jesus to die for us all … and, as she did a wave of anointing swept forth from where she stood, and covered us so powerfully I was in tears … and she had “come out of the closet”!

After the song, and the final thanks to her husband and friends, she came over.

I said to her, still feeling the Presence of God: “that was gutsy, well done!”

To which she responded … “well, I thought it was time to come out of the closet! …”

I gushed about the wave of His Presence that had come forth as she sang …

She looked and bubbled over saying that she just had to thank Him for all He had done, she wanted to release Him over her land … she knew it was right and that it was the time to publicly do so … and then she laughed and said: “well, you prayed that I would receive ‘boldness’, and so you should not be surprised that I was ‘bold’” …

I am still amazed at her courage … and her bold display of love for Jesus …

He has been good to her; and, she has been pursuing Him faithfully, seeking answers to her questions, desiring to know more … it has been a journey!

It is time for us to come out of the closet …

It’s time for us to release Heaven on earth and reveal His goodness and kindness … for it is His kindness that leads people to repentance (Romans 2:4) …

Let’s step out of the closet together … let’s declare His goodness to those around and release His Presence on those we meet … let’s share this life of wonder and joy, and as we do “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14) … remembering that when God revealed His Glory to Moses, He revealed His Goodness (see Exodus 33:18-19) for …

Stories of secret santas … God is Good!

What is it about this season that causes people to become generous-hearted?

It is more than just the season … I know this for sure, given the number of stressed shop staff that I have spoken to that have mentioned the unpleasant treatment they have been receiving from stressed and busy people racing through the shops to get “the shopping done” …

There is that, the unpleasantness, but then there is something else, an atmosphere, or an attitude which can be caught, which can be spread, which can be given away and which can change atmospheres … we can release it as we go, and in doing so it has the potential to change districts, cities and even nations … Christians and non-Christians alike can “catch” the breeze on this one, and regardless of belief systems an attitude of generosity can be caught, can infect people …

A blogger visited my site, and in turn I visited his.  His blog appears to generally be more political in nature … but there, in the midst of political comment, is a piece about the generosity of people toward strangers … a story that has impacted others in such a tremendous way that those others have then gone on and done the same … a story that in turn has inspired more acts of generosity, which in turn have caused more acts of generosity and so on … the potential is endless … His loving kindness is infectious …

I encourage you to read this simple story and marvel at how a basic anonymous act of kindness can impact others … and how in turn such an act can then resonate through a community … it is a story of how “a secret santa pays for other people’s lay-buys for Christmas” … please take the time to read … it warms the heart!

Reading this story reminded me  of my own such experience, posted over a year ago which I recount now:

We decided to go out for dinner where the river meets the bay.  It was a beautiful night.  We were all tired, but it was fun to go and as a family we headed out to enjoy a balmy Friday evening together.

The children enjoyed watching the boats, gobbled their dinner and we had a lovely evening.  I sat and finished my drink and A went to pay for our meal.

When A came back with a receipt he said “look at how much the bill was?”  Expecting a big bill, I looked and was surprised at how small it was … I thought “there were no problems with the meal, we had made no complaints, what was going on?”

I looked at A and he said “Santa paid for our meal”.

Incredulous I looked at him and said “what?”

A complete stranger had picked up our entire food bill and wished to remain anonymous – the waitress said that she was instructed to say “Santa had paid”.

We were amazed, a bit shocked … in fact rather incredulous … and felt so very blessed …

My daughter and I prayed for whoever they were and released a 100 fold, a 1000 fold return, blessing them where we sat …

I wrote a short note of thanks … “Dear Santa …” and handed it to the waitress who was beaming as she watched the Goodness of God unfold in our lives … as she watched God’s love unfold in our lives – what a witness … to us and her!

God’s goodness, His loving kindness is remarkable … a complete stranger released it upon us … we did taste and see that God is good … and as I write this testimony I am still amazed at how loved I feel by a complete stranger and by a gloriously good God!

God is Good!

Bill Johnson tell’s a story of how one person from his church in Redding California paid for a person’s coffee at Star Bucks and in doing so started a chain reaction where each person that came after them “paid it forward” … they paid for the next one, who paid for the next one … and so on and so on … the “chain” of generosity remained unbroken for some hours … something had shifted in the atmosphere … the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand and had been released …

Could you be a “Secret Santa” and bless someone?  You could even be an “out there” Christian and pay for a stranger’s groceries, or bread (click here for related story) … they in turn may pay it forward …

Go ahead, be a secret Santa, but please, also, make a decision not to be a secret Christian.  Let God out of the box, take Jesus out of the Church and onto the streets, out of your Sunday and into your every day … let God out of you … let the river of life flow from within … if you do He will impact nations through you … it only takes one … with God … to alter the course of history … so imagine what an army of us could do if we just let Him out, if we would stop and pray for the one and believe what He says we are capable of in the Bible … it would be miraculous, it would be magnificent … all “the Earth would be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of God” (Hab 2:14) … his goodness, His loving kindness, because …

God is Good!

Celebrating and sharing the Goodness of God the world over…God is Good!

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

(Habakkuk 2:14 NIV)

I love celebrating God’s goodness.  I love hearing about the breakthroughs, the healings, the goodness, the miracles … it encourages me to keep going, to keep stepping out and offer the Kingdom of Heaven to others – to believe the promises in the Bible for me, my family, my community, my country …

I love learning from another Believer’s journey … because in every story there is something to glean, to learn, to consider … just as in the parables, there is always a hidden gem …

I love celebrating with people on breakthroughs.  I love hearing the prophetic words over people – it is a glimpse into who they have been created to be by God … and in knowing that I can then encourage them to step into that identity, into that call, and I can adjust my “lens” to see them more in the way God sees them …

There is a woman on the other side of the globe, who celebrates God’s goodness too.  In the natural she is a stranger to me; even so, she is a sister in Christ, who loves Jesus with a passion … and so there is a connection …

I found her when I found a story of her son’s healing, by mere “chance” after posting one of my blogs.  The story was of her husband stepping out and praying for her son in a busy airport.  In it she honestly reflected her embarrassment as her husband prayed in public, and she shares her surprise and delight at her son’s immediate healing …

She celebrates the little things, the kisses from God, like gifts of candles from friends, recognising God’s hands in the gift because they were just the right fragrances …

She celebrates her children’s prayers being answered

And she celebrates when her family is freed of debt  in miraculous ways …

And, after reading about one of my stories where I stopped and prayed for someone in the hospital recently, she took the time to encourage me, a stranger from the other side of the world, and sent me a similar story … of how a stranger stopped and prayed for her son in emergency.  She was a brand new Christian at the time … it was a gentleman, who prayed, after which her son “mysteriously” got better – very quickly … click here – it is worth a read

What stories are you keeping to yourself?  Whose stories are you grabbing a hold of and asking God to “do again”? He is no respecter of persons, so if He has done it for one of us, He will do it for another …

I believe that we here in Australia need to get over the “tall poppy”syndrome, and yes I know it is dying, but we all need to get on with telling our stories about a Good God … and in doing so the earth will be filled with the knowledge of His Glory … We will encourage each other to live as Christians … as mini Christs … because we are all empowered to do so.

Why not step out and tell some stories, encourage some others, tell some non-Christians of His goodness, tell other Christians of His Goodness … just talk about Him and who He truly is … how He protects, loves, delivers and heals … in this life … He wants it “on Earth as it is in Heaven” … (Matt 6:10).

And, we should be telling the stories and celebrating all that He does for His family, for His kids, because …

God is Good!
