Stories of a good God

Calling in a creative miracle because God is capable and God is Good!

We had a pair of jazz ballet shoes to purchase.  We knew where we needed to go, had the time on Saturday afternoon, but we had felt God say “do it tomorrow on the way home from church”, and so, with adequate time to stop after church, before the start of a play date, we popped into Chadstone to “bag” the shoes and go on …

We stopped briefly to buy a treat … an ice-cream for my son and myself, and 2 oversized chocolate freckles for the play date my daughter was going on (my husband honourably abstained).  As we left the shopping centre, me sharing my ice cream with my five-year old son, who had decided he preferred my chocolate one to his rainbow one, I saw a young man in a wheel chair and I got that familiar prompting to stop and offer to pray …

I caught my husband’s eye who instantly knew what I was about to do and he disappeared with the kids, a relief for me since I normally stop with children by my side.

I gently approached the young man in the wheel chair and opened up a conversation with something like “Hi … I can see you are in a wheel chair … something really tough must have happened to you …” not smooth, but effective …

As I spoke he motioned to me that he was actually missing a leg (which I had not realised) and I thought “oh my gosh!” I had thought he was in a wheel chair needing a healing miracle, not that he was in a wheel chair needing a creative miracle …

He motioned to the lack of leg and I quickly tried to recover my cool, calm, collected stance … and as I did he explained that his right arm no longer worked either … and that if it did he could use crutches …

Great”, I thought … “I have really got myself in the deep end!” and, after a deep breath, I proceeded to introduce myself and explain why I had stopped.  I shared with him that our church, Stairway, had been prophesied over and told that we would see creative miracles like legs grow, and that I wanted to know whether he would permit me to pray for that and for the healing of his arm … explaining that God had highlighted him to me to stop …

He readily agreed, placing his hot meat pie down, and he told me his name was Mark …

I placed my hand on his left shoulder and, as my five-year old son ran up and away with tongue out to swipe licks on my now melting chocolate ice cream, I invited the Holy Spirit to come, and I released healing over him in the name of Jesus.  I then prayed in line with God’s Word over our church and asked God to create a new leg, ignoring the screaming thoughts in my head that were saying “you are mad you are mad” … and I reminded God of His word and asked Him to perform a creative miracle for Mark in the name of Jesus …

I then walked around him and placed my hand on his right shoulder and I again released healing in the name of Jesus and I commanded his right arm to be healed.  As I did I started to receive words of knowledge of what needed healing, to make the arm whole, and I “knew” that the injury had been as a result of a trauma, an accident …

I told the sinews to knit, the muscles to function, the nerves to heal and for a few other things that came to mind as I prayed and I asked for the oil of the Holy Spirit to be released and flow through his arm.  As I prayed in faith the words and commands I felt I “heard” he nodded in agreement and I felt that somehow I was hitting the mark with the prayers, that they were words of knowledge from God, words indicating what healing was required to have his arm function again … I felt they were words being released to give him faith that God knew and cared for him … for I surely could not have known in the natural, for he had not told me and I am not medically trained in any way …

I then called for “redemption”.  I felt so very strongly that God’s word for him was “redemption”, that God would “redeem” him … all he had lost … His eyes grew moist and he was visibly moved …

My son continued to run up cheekily licking my ice cream …

On this particular occasion I felt to give Mark my mobile (cell phone) number and my husband and my first names … I also gave him the details of church services and times and he asked whether there was wheel chair access, to which I said there was …

I mentioned a few testimonies of healing and told how God’s healing can come as a seed, which grows, and I encouraged him to thank God for any improvement … and to come for more prayer if he felt so inclined.  I then shared about how a man who was in a wheelchair and who was unable to move his legs had started to move his legs the week before at our church’s evening service and I encouraged him to come …

I then felt I needed to give him a kiss, and so I asked if I could.  He agreed,  and so I kissed him on the cheek, and thanked him for allowing me to stop and pray, for interrupting his day …

I wanted to fix it for Mark … I wanted to make things right … but it was beyond my power to do so … all I could do was stop and offer God’s word … or rather offer God’s Word:

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10 (NASB 1995)

Our church has a promise from God in the form of a prophetic word that creative miracles will be seen, will be released … it’s the testimony of Jesus … it’s the promise of Jesus …

I feel that he was greatly touched that someone cared enough to stop and pray …

I feel that He was impacted by God in how God showed me the needs of his heart and the requirements of healing in his arm …

I feel he was touched that someone offered an answer …

I know he felt God … I trust he received hope … we cannot stop and pray and not cause change to occur … prayer releases something … something grand … and as we stop for the one and offer them The One they will each taste and see that …

“This little light of mine … I’m going to let it shine” – changing atmospheres…J’s story of a Good God!

You may recall the post … “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy … “ (Rev 19:10) see link: https://godtestimonies.wordpress.com/2011/09/07/for-the-testimony-of-jesus-is-the-spirit-of-prophecy-revelation-1910-releasing-the-goodness-of-god/.  Well here is another testimony from the same person.  He is finding that others are “seeing” the light that He carries … and that others are noticing that where ever he goes, he changes the atmosphere …

My friend writes:

Here’s my story about God’s Shining Light …

I pulled into my last stop for the day on Tuesday afternoon, and started collecting coffee orders from my regular clients. Before I started I got an email from another one of my clients 2 factories down asking when I would arrive, as she was in need of a coffee. I replied “I’m here now”. So she walked over to the van and, while I made her coffee, she unloaded her ‘stuff’ on me.

Then the operation manager for the place I arrived at walked past, said “hi”, stopped and said to me: “You know J, you are like this big shinning light of peace and serenity when you come here!”

The 3 of us just laughed, The Ops manager kind of walked around in a small circle, deep in thought, and he then said, “you know what? The boys have worked really hard lately; they have put through some big quotes. I want to shout the whole office coffee.”

By then I had finished Nadia’s Coffee order, and bid her farewell saying “here’s your cup of serenity” … she agreed whole heartedly.

We carry the presence of the creator of the universe … the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is inside us (see Romans 8:11) … we may not recognise it, but we are representatives of Jesus Christ, wherever we go … we are gateways, portals, through which heaven can be released, and through which, I believe, Heaven can leak …

My friend J leaks the presence of Jesus.  He is consciously aware that he is a representative of the Kingdom of Heaven and so he chooses to conduct himself as such, and in doing so he affects the atmosphere to such an extent that the Kingdom’s peace comes with him and is recognised by others and the Kingdom’s generosity is “caught”, as it was by the operations manager … who came under the influence of the peace and serenity that J carried …

This is a question I ask myself regularly, especially on my “off days” …

“Am I conducting myself as a daughter of the Most High God? … Who and what am I representing right now? … Am I representing the Kingdom of Heaven, which is peace, joy and righteousness … or is it some other kingdom?”

Will you let your light shine?

Or will you choose to hide it?

God does not light your lamp to hide it under a basket … He lights your lamp so that you can SHINE … and give light to everyone … (see Matthew 5:15)

So as you go, remember the song … “this little light of mine … I’m going to let it shine” … and as you do people will know that …

God is Good!

“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” Revelation 19:10…releasing the goodness of God

“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy … “ (Rev 19 10).  To prophesy is to declare God’s intentions, His goodness … Paul writes in 1 Cor 14:3 “But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort”; indeed, Paul writes that “I would rather have you prophesy” (1 Cor 14:5), to emphasise the importance of the prophetic word being released by believers.

Well, this story has that very power.  This story came in and a person I know read the testimony in its “raw” form.  The story is about sowing into the Kingdom of God financially … but, as a person with a benign tumour read it, the “tone in the ear shifted” … the ear has been affected by a tumour and the hearing has been affected … so, as a completely unrelated Jesus story was read it seems that power was released into the ear … this shift has encouraged that person to read more, listen to more, engage more with the testimonies of healing from a Good God!

If the spirit of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, then could Jesus and His presence ride forth on a story, on a testimony, and cause a shift in something that is unrelated to the subject of the story?  I know that Bill Johnson covers such concepts in his book “The Power of the Testimony” … healings do take place as testimonies have been released into the atmosphere, but I think (but I could be very wrong here) that the healings referred to were only ones of a similar nature to the testimony released, a similar condition … this release of power came on the reading of a financial miracle testimony, and the power of Jesus was released into an ear …

Could it be as we share our stories of a Good God that power is released for more than  just the miracle to which the story relates? …

Just one more good reason to let the world know that God is Good …

The story received by email Monday 5th September 2011 reads:

Here is a story of sowing into the kingdom of God.

It started about a month ago; my wife was invited to a Birthday morning tea. We know this family is standing in faith for financial provision, so we decided to put $100 in her birthday card.

A couple of weeks later, our family and some others were in Geelong helping my wife’s grandparents by laying gravel in their driveway. After we finished, my wife’s Pa gave us $100 as a way of saying “thank you”.

We sowed that money into the love offering for David Wagner.

Then, at a conference where our catering business was supplying food, we had sold only half of the food we prepared! So, we were giving away pies, pasties etc in the afternoon to whoever wanted something to eat rather than throwing them out. One person wanted to pay and I said “you can’t pay, but you’re more than welcome to make a love offering…” Later I found out that he gave my wife $100, we sowed that too back into the love offering for Bill Johnson and Leif Hetland.

The next day of the conference we sold EVERYTHING! We had a little bit of product left over which we were able to make into little hampers to give away – Such Fun!

So last Tuesday I was working in a factory area selling coffees, when I was described by a factory boss as being like a “white light” and … he ordered $100 extra in coffee.

Last Wednesday we went to my wife’s sister’s house to cook her some dinner. She is pregnant and not feeling the best at times. We cooked 7 meals, plus 3 serves of fried rice; our kids came too and slept on the couch.  My wife’s sister and her husband came for dinner last night, and gave us a thank you card, with a Coles voucher in it – value: $100

Makes me wonder what would happen if we started to sow $500?!

What stories of God’s goodness are you keeping to yourself?

You never know … if you start to tell the stories in your own life of a Good God, you may just release the spirit of prophecy, and with it a tumour may shift, a leg may grow out, or a heart may be healed … you will never know unless you start to speak and, I hazard a guess, that if you start power will be released … and that power will heal because …

God is Good!
